Are LED Lights Harmful? Understanding the Lights Used in the Harmonic Egg

You may have seen conversations lately suggesting that LED lights are harmful to our health. It’s a valid question and one we’re always happy to explore thoughtfully.

The short answer is this: not all LED lights are the same. The type of lighting used inside the Harmonic Egg is very different from the LEDs most people are concerned about.

The real concern behind LED lighting

When people talk about LED lights being harmful, they are usually referring to bright white LED lighting like what you find in hospitals, offices, retail stores, or on phone and computer screens.

These white LEDs often contain a high amount of blue light. Blue-heavy light can stimulate the nervous system, increase cortisol, and interfere with natural sleep cycles when used at night or for extended periods. Over time, constant exposure to this type of lighting can contribute to nervous system stress and disruption.

This concern is real, but it’s also very specific to certain types of lighting.

How Harmonic Egg LED lights are different

The Harmonic Egg does not use white LED lighting.

Instead, it uses color-changing RGB LED lights. These lights do not have a fixed color temperature and do not produce the same blue-heavy “daylight” effect found in many white LEDs. Each color exists as its own wavelength and can be selected intentionally.

This intentional use of light is one of the many ways Harmonic Egg sessions support relaxation and nervous system regulation.

Color and the nervous system

Different colors of light interact with the body and nervous system differently.

Blue and green tones tend to be more activating and can signal alertness. Red tones are biologically neutral and do not disrupt sleep cycles. Softer, warmer colors are often associated with grounding and relaxation.
